Learn more at HonorHealth.com. Responsibilities Job Summary This position provides first line supervision of staff in the performance of their assigned duties in the Sterile Processing Department. Ensures that sterile supplies and equipment are delivered to the Patient Care areas as needed. Leads the CSPD team in contamination, preparation and sterilization and delivery of instrument trays to surgical suites, in an efficient, compliant and timely manner. Develops and maintains a Quality Assurance Plan with infrastructure supportive of adherence to Plan. May serve as CSPD representative at facility and network meetings. Serves as liaison between surgeons, vendors, CSPD and OR teams and leaders. Responsible for effective communication to all stakeholders. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other teams, peers and leaders. Create a culture where risk is recognized and mitigated in a timely manner. Supervises personnel assigned to the section. Plans, establishes, and revises work assignments and schedules. Interviews, selects, and hires personnel. Completes changes in classification, salary action, promotion, demotion, transfer, and termination. Administers performance evaluation in collaboration with the Manager. Administers staff disciplinary process through termination. Verifies staff clinical competency and certifications. Reviews and approves time and attendance records. Engages team to perform at the highest standard. Monitors processes, ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to best practice/standards (AAMI, IAHCSMM), along with tray accuracy, timeliness and delivery to surgical areas. Actively participates, leads and/or collaborates around Quality, Infection Prevention and Improvement efforts focused on patient safety and efficiencies. Creates infrastructure supportive of adherence to infection prevention guidelines. Participates actively in development of and adherence to annual departmental budget. Provides input on departmental capital equipment considerations and prioritization. Serves as a CSPD resource for the facility and network. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Required Experience 3 years Tech experience (CSPD or Surgical Technologist) Required Licenses and Certifications Other Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) 1 Year Required
