Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Scottsdale, Arizona

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to assist our client on a contract basis, this is a HYBRID role available in North Scottsdale 85225. The role will focus on performing essential AP functions while providing excellent communication with vendors and ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing. The AP Specialist will support the accounts payable process through vendor management, correspondence, and transactional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional responses to emails and phone calls.

  • Address payment status inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide necessary updates to vendors.

Invoice Processing:

  • Accurately process vendor invoices, including verifying details and ensuring proper documentation is received.

  • Match invoices to purchase orders or receipts as applicable, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Email Management:

  • Monitor and manage the accounts payable inbox, responding to inquiries and routing messages to the appropriate team members when necessary.

  • Maintain a high level of organization within email communications to track and follow up on pending requests.

Basic Accounts Payable Functions:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate coding and entry of invoices into the accounting system.

  • Collaborate with team members to support the AP team’s goals and deadlines.

  • Review and address invoice status issues, such as duplicates or missing approvals.

Compliance and Accuracy:

  • Adhere to company policies and industry regulations related to accounts payable.

  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits or other internal reviews.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related role.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to manage vendor relationships effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiar with accounts payable systems (ERP experience is a plus).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
