About the Position: Serves as a Mission Integrator for the G3 Operations Directorate, Future Operations. As a Mission Integrator, the incumbent is responsible for developing the relationships needed to bring all parts of the Defense Transportation System (DTS) enterprise together to meet the needs of the Department of Defense (DOD). Responsibilities Applies a mastery of technical transportation skills applicable to the movement of all classes of cargo to include plans, concepts, operations, principles, readiness, systems, and methodology. Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and solving problems within the DTS by leveraging partnerships within the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE), outside government agencies, and commercial contractors. Serves as a project leader or technical expert on a variety of complex studies and issues developing new guidance and procedures to be used throughout DOD. Applies expert knowledge of DOD organizational missions, objectives, and procedures as they relate to transportation and computerized systems. Utilizes comprehensive technical knowledge of overall transportation procedures with emphasis on unit cargo whether classified as patch movements, enablers, exercises, and/or close watch moving on and through applicable transportation modes. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Facilitating the movement of cargo through the Defense Transportation System, 2) Utilizing knowledge of guidelines and polices to support terminal operations; and 3) Providing advisory service to resolve transportation problems to ensure timely movement of cargo. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Data Analysis Transportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). This is a Term Appointment Not to Exceed- Position may be filled as a Term Appointment Not to Exceed 2 YEARS. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
