JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Schuylkill has an opening for a part-time Student Health Services Nurse Practitioner responsible for providing quality care services to students.This is a 24-hour-per-week position for 30 weeks between the months of mid-August and mid-May when students are on campus.

As a key member of the Student Affairs team, the Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide high-quality healthcare services to the college's student population. The NP will work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of medical conditions, focusing on preventive care and health education. This role involves direct patient care, including the management of acute and chronic health issues, health promotion, and disease prevention, while supporting the overall well-being of students.

The nurse is responsible for but not limited to the following:

Collaborate with the Coordinator of Counseling and Student Disability Resources

Interview, assess, and treat patients using established protocols, and assist with patient triage and problem-solving

Render emergency care as indicated by the protocol

Refer patients for further care or services as needed

Ensure all necessary supplies for the operation of the clinic are available

Maintain required documentation and records

Additional duties that may arise in the healthcare landscape

Education and Experience:

The position requires a Master's degree or equivalent knowledge; a Pennsylvania nurse practitioner license, in good standing, with two years of related experience that applies to the assigned work area. Must maintain current credentialing and privileging.

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid USdriver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be requiredin addition to standard background checks.
