Robert Half International Staff Accountant in SCHAUMBURG, Illinois
Accountemps is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization. In the role of Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Partake in annual closing processes
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
High attention to detail
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Vow to meet business deadlines
Journal entries experience preferred
Strong familiarity with accounts receivable
Accounts payable experience
Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
Experience with ERP systems
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
