Role: Data Migration Specialist

Customer Data Migration Specialists needed who lead customers in migrating their data assets from disparate systems to company Cloud system and plays a critical role in efficiently onboarding clients to our platform. Our commitment lies in establishing delivery processes that are scalable, replicable, adaptable, and enable us to seamlessly accommodate our expanding client base. You should be passionate about working with diverse datasets, agile processes, innovative software tools and be someone who enjoys diving deep into data to provide business value. This is a senior technical role that collaborates with the Delivery team to create a SaaS-based digital solution for our customers. You are astute at communicating complex data-oriented topics in a simple manner to technical and non-technical customer personnel at all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to understand data migration requirements and needs

  • Assist customers by delivering a data migration workstream from beginning to end, including analyzing, profiling, mapping, moving the data and transforming data as necessary, while considering risks and potential impacts, utilizing data engineering skills

  • Communicate technical data migration strategies to business stakeholders and IT professionals

  • Collaborate with other in company delivery teams to onboard customers and ensure a smooth transition from project to 'live' while ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.

  • Define and document data migration strategies and outcomes including documenting any fixes or adjustments made and creating data migration reconciliation reports

  • Develop and propose data migration best practices for all current and future projects to be used by Delivery teams.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and privacy guidelines for all migrated data

  • Learn and maintain technical knowledge of the modules, features, processes, and capabilities of the company Cloud to assist the client through the onboarding process

  • Be an owner of the data migration technology stack used.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in complex data migration, external customer facing project experiences

  • Preferably experience in, and ideally in building data solutions for, highly regulated industries

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

  • Demonstrated high alignment to company values, with particular focus on customer orientation, authoritativeness and excellent technical expertise and fact based manner of operating, highly collaborative and solution oriented, and high degree of accountability for and integrity of solutions and resulting data impacting outcomes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills i.e., the ability to understand complex data sets and make sense of them

  • Advanced data querying skills using SQL and database skills (5+ years)

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python or C#

  • Advanced understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices and building data pipelines using ETL frameworks and APIs

  • Proven track record of sharing outcomes through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with customers and business and technical teams in a simple and concise manner for the audience.

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile project delivery using Scrum
