Interfirst Producing Branch Manager - Chicagoland Area in Schaumburg, Illinois

Overview: Interfirst Mortgage is seeking a full-time Producing Branch Manager for the Chicagoland area. The Producing Branch Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and growing a mortgage sales team, with a focus on driving profitability and efficiency within the branch. The ideal candidate will have an active team of NMLS-certified loan officers. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Development: Identify, cultivate, and maintain a network of quality business relationships to serve as sources of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.

  • Client Consultation: Interview new and existing clients to determine loan needs, advising them on appropriate products, terms, and pricing.

  • Application Management: Generate complete mortgage applications, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Team Leadership: Build and oversee a high-performing sales team that consistently exceeds mortgage sales goals, with an emphasis on maintaining an active team of NMLS-certified loan officers.

  • Daily Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the sales team, driving each member toward expected performance goals.

  • Pipeline Management: Ensure the sales pipeline remains full of qualified leads and prospects, managing the process from origination to closing.

  • Compliance Oversight: Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including managing team attendance at required meetings and training.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types within the branch.

  • Problem Resolution: Resolve client inquiries and research any issues related to problem loans.

  • Decision-Making: Make informed decisions regarding exceptions to mortgage loan policy.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with department management to organize, plan, and implement sales goals and strategic initiatives.

  • Training and Development: Train loan officers in relevant work areas and provide regular coaching and development opportunities for staff.

  • Supervision: Supervise mortgage loan officers within the assigned area, ensuring high levels of performance.

  • Travel: Travel between locations and to third-party training sessions may be required.

    Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of mortgage sales experience and 2 years mortgage leadership, NMLS registration and certification is required

  • Active Team: Must have an active team of NMLS-certified loan officers.

  • Leadership: Proven supervisory experience, including coaching and staff development.

  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of conventional, government, and portfolio guidelines, as well as mortgage products, services, operations, federal lending regulations, and market trends.

  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of FNMA-DU.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a consistent, positive, and professional attitude.
