Summary

The Manager of Hospital Services (MHS) is responsible for oversight of the Hospital Services and Donor Family Services staff, ensuring processes and protocols maximize the gift of donation in the hospitals, promote the mission of SHSC, and provide comprehensive support to donor families. The MHS serves as a donation process expert and facilitates the promotion of strong relationships within the South Carolina hospitals, as well as maintaining a quality standard in the medical record review process, and a commitment to care of donor families, while honoring the legacies of donor heroes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Daily management and oversite of Hospital Services and Donor Family Services , to include the identification of training and/or development opportunities that will assist the employee in achieving enhanced job performance and/or career objectives, review of personal goals and performance evaluation.

  • Coordinates onboarding, precepting, and training.

  • Cultivates relationships with high level administrators, physicians, nurses and other key hospital personnel to promote and advance a positive donation culture within the service area hospitals to maximize donation opportunities.

  • Attends hospital meetings, as needed, to promote and advance a positive donation culture, to assist hospitals in process improvement through continuous development and refinement of policies and procedures, and where applicable, apply industry standards and state/federal law, and build a foundation for mutual feedback to address concerns.

  • Assists the Director of Hospital Services (DHS) in the administration of the HS strategic plan and ensures compliance with all HS regulatory standards throughout the service area.

  • Assists the DHS with internal efforts related to missed opportunities, quality assurance, performance improvement efforts, and after-action reviews.

  • Provides oversight of the Medical Record Review process, ensuring industry standards and data integrity is maintained.

  • Assists the DHS with revising and training to all details of HS and DFS policies and procedures.

  • Provides on-call support to clinical and family support services to ensure donation pathways are protected and real-time issues can be addressed in order to maximize donation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (health-related field preferred)

  • Three (3) years of experience in marketing, communications, healthcare, or business development

  • Two (2) years of OPO experience (preferred)

  • One (1) year of supervisory, management, and training experience

  • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.

  • An equivalent combination or education or experience
