Facilities Custodian - 2004826  

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Facility Custodian performs routine general housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance activities to ensure that the site remains clean, organized, and in orderly condition.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities  * Responsible for performing general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.  * Effectively performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.  * Regularly empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.  * Responsible for reporting needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels.  * Accountable for ensuring all building perimeter doors are secure at the start of shift.  * Responsible for ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.  * Responsible for assisting with snow removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.  * Accountable for ensuring production clean room areas are kept clean and floors waxed to reduce particulate contamination.

Education & Experience  * High school diploma or equivalent required  * Two (2) years' experience in custodial work within a manufacturing environment preferred  * Experience in operating custodial machinery and equipment, including floor care and chemical mixtures preferred  * Experience with cleaning production and clean rooms preferred

Skills & Other Requirements  * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others to create positive working relationships  * Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously  * Must have a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.  * Ability to accommodate flexible schedule.

Working Conditions  * Various interior and exterior, including plant floor, office areas, grounds  * Exposure to noise, dust, fumes  * Exposure to hazardous chemicals used on-site

Physical Requirements  * Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull regularly  * Ability to sit or walk for extended periods  * Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally  * Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the site including climbing ladders, bending, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces  * Use of protective equipment as needed
