The Route Check-In is responsible for accurate validation and recording of returned products to the Warehouse by delivery personnel.  Returns goods to proper Warehouse storage locations for efficient management of inventory.  Route Check-In should be flexible to perform other functions such as inventory control, sales pick-up, shipping, and receiving, or other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Six months in a similar position strongly preferred

  • Six months of experience and skills in operating an electric pallet jack, forklift, and other power equipment strongly preferred

    Responsibilities

  • Perform a visual inspection of the returned product to verify quantity and condition; compare to the daily returns list

  • Verify returned product is correct and from the assigned customer invoice

  • Separate the satisfactory product from the unsatisfactory product; record and return the good product to proper storage locations within the Warehouse; place the unsatisfactory product on a designated pallet for repacking or disposal

  • Validate invoices are properly marked as to product being returned.  Forward invoices to customer service for issuance of credit to the customer

  • Enter returned product into the Warehouse management system

  • Keep appropriate records to guarantee inventory control, rotation of stock, and security are maintained

  • Inspect delivery vehicles to ensure all contents are removed

  • Load, unload, move, stack, store, and stage products using a pallet jack, forklift, slip sheet machine, order picker, or other power equipment

  • Assist with physical inventories as required

  • Perform and submit a daily power equipment checklist to the appropriate manager

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner

  • Maintain the facility and equipment in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner

  • Assist in maintaining the security of the Warehouse

    Physical Requirements and Essential Functions

  • Regular, reliable attendance required

  • Able to frequently operate a pallet jack and/or forklift if assigned

  • Able to stand and walk, reach with arms and hands, lift and carry, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel

  • Able to perform greater than average lifting (50-65 lbs) with some overhead lifting required

  • Must have specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance
