Pay Rate: $21 per hour

What’s a typical day as a Structural Mechanic II ? You’ll be:

  • Perform assembly, installation, and repair of structural components for aircraft, such as fuselage, wings, and empennage, according to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Inspect, measure, and align structural parts and assemblies using precision tools and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards and dimensional tolerances.

  • Fabricate and modify structural components using various materials and techniques, including sheet metal forming, riveting, bonding, and composite layup.

  • Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as dye penetrant or eddy current inspection, to detect defects or discontinuities in structural materials.

  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to troubleshoot structural issues, propose solutions, and implement design changes or repairs as necessary.

  • Adhere to safety procedures, regulations, and company policies throughout the assembly and maintenance processes to ensure a safe working environment and product integrity.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in aircraft structures or related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience in aircraft structural assembly, installation, and repair, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing or maintenance environment.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals related to aircraft structures.

  • Familiarity with a variety of materials used in aircraft construction, including metals, composites, and advanced alloys, as well as associated fabrication and repair techniques.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including drills, rivet guns, shears, and precision measuring instruments, to perform structural tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
