Do you have experience with operational oversight, strategic planning, and/or direct supervision of employees? Our Breeze department is in need of a Road Supervisor, capable of monitoring and coordinating both our bus operators and dispatchers in operations and delivery of overall transit services. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer proficiency as well as experience with Workday, Trapeze and Microsoft Office. This role starts out paying $27.22/hour and benefits begin within 60 days of hire. Job Description:

About the Position

In this role you will:

  • Supervise the operations of transit service in the field, insuring that bus operators adhere to published schedules, routes, and/or assigned runs.

  • Train, mentor, counsel and correct bus operators.

  • Complete bus operator reviews every six months and on anniversary date.

  • Monitor, control and direct all transit bus service during normal operations and community emergencies.

  • Observe and report conditions of facilities and equipment.

  • Monitor transfer points.

  • Approve and correct Bus Operators timecards and payroll using Workday's payroll system.

  • Check routes, bus stop signs, and safety issues.

  • Trouble shoot and repair fare boxes, when necessary.

  • Coordinate with Transit maintenance and respond to vehicle breakdowns, fare box issues, route service interruptions and customer/operator concerns/issues.

  • Investigate transit vehicle accidents.

  • Record and enter miss-trips into data bank.

  • Respond to inquires, complaints and compliments from the general public and acts as a liaison between the public and bus operators.

  • Perform investigations and reports including recommendations and write ups for disciplinary actions.

  • Operate the bus in relief and emergency situations.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Must be available for occasional weekends.

  • Sunday - Saturday, 4:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. covers the entire span of service.

  • Work schedules may vary due to assigned shift, split shifts, rotations, emergencies, etc.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent with four (4) years of experience in operation of transit coaches in a public transit system or similar operation.

  • -OR- Associates degree with two (2) years of related work experience.

  • One year of Supervisory and/or managerial experience.

  • Valid Florida driver's License by date of hire.

  • Ability to obtain a Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class "B" with passenger and air-brake endorsement within 90 days.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • E xcellent computer proficiency.

  • Experience with Workday, Trapeze and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands: Must regularly have to lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
