Description We are seeking a proficient Network Engineer/Field Tech to join our team based in Sarasota, Florida, United States. This role encompasses a variety of tasks related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, with a focus on enhancing performance and security. You will also have the chance to guide entry level members of the team, ensuring that everyone is updated on the latest networking technologies. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain both LAN and WAN network infrastructure

• Troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure optimal performance

• Implement necessary security measures to protect network infrastructure

• Guide entry level team members and provide training on emerging technologies

• Develop and evaluate project cost estimates for new networking technologies, services, and equipment

• Make recommendations on the selection of vendor products, services, and new network solutions

• Collaborate with other business centers, offices, and IT organizations to assure compatibility and interoperability with other hardware, applications, and systems

• Handle Work Orders related to administration and maintenance of network technologies, including routers, switches, VPNs, and WLANs

• Perform network add/move/change activities, including cable installs, port activations, and equipment installations

• Maintain accurate network documentation, including TCP/IP Database, LAN Diagrams, WAN diagrams, and backup equipment configurations. Requirements • Proficiency in working with Cisco Routers

• Deep understanding and experience with Cisco Technologies

• Cisco CCNA certification is a requirement

• Cisco CCNP certification is highly desirable

• Knowledge and experience in WAN - Wide Area Network is necessary

• Expertise in LAN Switching is required

• Proficiency in Network Troubleshooting is essential
