Are you looking for a community library where you can get to know your patrons? This beautiful location is part of our 10-branch library system. Jacaranda is a heavily utilized branch serving patrons and hosting intergenerational programs including a Creation Station. We are well-funded by an endowment and supported by our Friends of the Library group for long term stability in our programming. We are looking for a part-time Library Assistant for our Frances T. • Implement standards of service that ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by customers.

• Provide assistance at all library service locations and stations.

• Provide directional and services-related information to users.

• Assist library users in person, by phone, or electronically.

• Assist in material checkout/check-in, retrieve and processes reserves, billing, and missing items.

• Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.

• Sort and shelve materials and maintain an orderly arrangement of materials.

• Assist in operating and basic troubleshooting of automated materials check-in, emptying and swapping materials bins, and routine maintenance.

About the Schedule

Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Employees must be available Monday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Work shifts include:

• 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

• 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

• 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

• You will be expected to work at least one night a week and be a part of the Saturday rotations.

  About You

  Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience in a clerical or customer service environment.

  Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Starting Pay: $18.00/hour
