WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Safety, Health and Environment Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective plant-wide safety program that complies with all government regulations. It also implements trainings and coordinates all initiatives required for safety, environment, governance, health and well-being of employees.

Leads the implementation and effective utilization of on-site risk assessment and risk prediction processes and drives appropriate mitigation measures to reduce associated risk.Maintain and update the requirements of the plans required in the environmental regulations (i.e. Contingency Plan, Waste Minimization, etc.).Maintain and update plan requirements required by STPS (Label Lock, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Electrical Safety Standards, Hazard Communication, etc.) and schedule, conduct and track required training.Serve as the facility's representative for all regulatory inspections and compliance audits.Lead the investigation of all incidents (near missing, accidents, injuries) and recommend corrective actions.Participate and follow up on audits; corporate security and environment, property and financial insurance as required.Track, report and analyze KPIs related to Safety, Health and Environment.Facilitate the Site Safety Committee and the First Aid Brigade involving associates.Ensure the investigation of all incidents related to Safety, Health and Environment, using specific tools to lead to the root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence.Drive the closure of corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of incidents, this includes the execution of corrective actions developed from other incidents of the site Maintain ISO certifications (and other voluntary certifications) ensuring that site Safety, Health and Environment management systems are aligned and maintained in accordance with ISO and/or program standards.Develop and implement site-specific Safety, Health and Environment strategies, programs and plans to position the site as a best-in-class organization.Prepare and maintain required plant environmental permits and submit associated regulatory reports.Promote the complete and consistent implementation of plant safety processes and foster the Safety First!

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.English Level: Advanced.Experience: Desirable 5 Years as Engineer and / or Coordinator of Health and Safety areasDesirable knowledge: Safety, Health and Environmental standards according to the STPS, ISO System Management.
