UCLA Health Patient Care Coordinator in Santa Monica, California
Description
The UCLA Santa Monica Hospital is seeking to hire a Patient Care Coordinator to join the Orthopaedic Surgery Department. You will provide administrative and academic support to the support. Primary duties include:
Answering and directing central phone lines
Preparation of charts, pre and post procedure and surgical coordination
Patient scheduling, interviewing, and encounter registration
Surgery scheduling and diagnostic tests
Verifying insurance benefits and navigating authorizations
Collect, sort, and distribute all departmental mail, faxes, and scanning
Other duties and cross coverage as assigned
Salary Range: $28.23 - $40.44/hourlyQualifications
Working knowledge of medical/Orthopaedic surgery terminology
Working knowledge of insurance and authorization processes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and various software programs.
Detailed knowledge of Medical Center Computing System appointment/registration procedures.
Skill in independently composing correspondence in standard correct grammar.
Skill in establishing and maintaining complex filing systems (general and research).
Skill in editing correspondence and manuscripts for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate English vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information to individuals at various organizational levels.
Ability to move between academic office, patient clinic locations, and other appropriate areas on campus to facilitate workflow and deliver/pick-up necessary materials.
Ability to independently operate photocopy and fax machines.
