Job Description

The Global Raw Materials & Reagents, Center of Excellence (GRM&R CoE) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Lab Tech III, Global Quality Control , based at our Santa Monica location. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting QC sampling and inspection of incoming raw materials and submission of samples to internal and external testing labs. This individual will routinely collaborate with other functional groups at Kite to ensure timely disposition of raw materials in support of production within a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Under guidance and supervision, perform the primary duties of QC sampling and inspection of incoming raw materials and associated documentation, submission of samples to internal and external labs, and coordinate shipment of samples to contract test labs and/or other Kite sites.

• Assist team lead with tracking of raw material sample requests to the Kite and 3PL warehouses, as needed.

• Maintain internal and external test results, and work with internal departments on timely raw material release.

• Review raw material packets with attention to detail and applied GDP/GMP practices and submit to Quality Assurance group for lot disposition.

• Keep laboratory area clean and ensures routine and proper disposal of dispositioned raw materials.

• Support and participate in laboratory OOS investigations and deviations related to raw material sampling, inspection, testing, and release process as appropriate.

• Support team members with other duties as required, such as gathering documentation and data entry.

• As needed, compile data for trending or investigation purposes.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description.

• This position may require working during weekends and holidays as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree OR

• AA Degree and 2+ years’ experience in the biotech/biopharmaceutical setting OR

• High School Degree and 3+ years’ experience in the biotech/biopharmaceutical setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• This position requires strong adherence to regulatory compliance and safety requirements, and operating within a GMP environment

• Requires exceptional attention to detail

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications

• Ability to perform duties with some supervision and must be adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills a must

The salary range for this position is: $67,915.00 - $87,890.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
