Description
Robert Half is partnering with an investment firm based in West Los Angeles who are looking for an analyst to join their team on a temp to hire basis. As an Investment & Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s investment decisions by analyzing financial data, identifying key trends, and assessing risk factors that could impact the portfolio. You will work closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to provide data-driven insights and recommendations. Your expertise in investment analysis and risk management will be instrumental in guiding the firm’s investment strategy and ensuring we meet both performance targets and risk mitigation goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Analysis:
Evaluate potential investment opportunities, including equities, fixed income, private equity, and alternative assets.
Conduct detailed financial analysis using metrics such as ROI, NPV, IRR, and other relevant performance indicators.
Monitor and track the performance of current investments and recommend adjustments as necessary.
Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decision-making processes.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and quantify risks associated with the firm’s investment portfolio, including market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.
Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of various risk factors on portfolio performance.
Collaborate with senior management to develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend adjustments to minimize exposure.
Prepare risk reports and present findings to senior leadership and investment committees.
Market & Economic Research:
Stay informed on market trends, economic developments, and industry news that could impact investment strategies.
Provide insights into global economic conditions, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors affecting investment markets.
Utilize data analytics tools to identify patterns and trends relevant to the firm’s investment strategy.
Reporting & Presentations:
Prepare regular reports on investment performance, risk assessments, and market outlooks for stakeholders and decision-makers.
Assist in the creation of presentations for board meetings, investor briefings, and internal reviews.
Communicate complex investment and risk information in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. CFA, FRM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in investment analysis, risk management, or a related field.
Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and risk management frameworks.
Proficiency with financial analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, Python, R).
Experience with risk management tools (e.g., Value at Risk (VaR), Monte Carlo simulations, stress testing) is a plus.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, real estate) and their associated risk profiles.
Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investing and its impact on risk assessments.
Experience with portfolio management software and risk management platforms.
Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance, etc.) is a plus.
