UCLA Health Administrative Assistant III, Charge Poster - Operative Services in Santa Monica, California

Description

Under the direction of the Revenue Manager, the Charge Poster, Administrative Assistant III, will independently prioritize and complete ongoing tasks following Departmental guidelines and Medical Center policies and procedures. The Administrative Assistant III is responsible for daily posting of charges for Operative Services logs including procedure assignment, review of times, staffing, supplies, implants, and other elements of the case for completeness in order to post the charge in the UCLA EHR system. Reconcile discrepancies in case information and work queues with relevant parties including nursing, implant coordinators, vendors, UCLA finance, physician teams, and others as applicable. Research through appropriate personnel all discrepancies relating to components used and document adjustments according to established University Policy and Procedures. Ensure timely posting of logs with appropriate follow-up. Participate in performance improvement and reporting projects. Incumbent is responsible for providing and maintaining an organized, smooth functioning and efficient office environment to ensure maximum services. Incumbent participates in setting, implementing, communicating, and maintaining standards of performance in each areaQualifications

Preferred familiarity with hospital billing and charge posting procedures

Required excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred knowledge of medical terminology

Required ability to independently solve complex problems

Required ability to work as part of team and establish cooperative working relationships with colleagues

Preferred experience in organizing workflow in order to accomplish established objectives

Required strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred demonstrated experience in process improvement efforts, related to productivity or quality improvement efforts

Required experience with varied computer software and hardware including word processing, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access

Preferred Bachelors' Degree
