Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the system level design and integration of capital equipment products that consist of software, electrical, and electro-mechanical subsystems. You will lead multi-functional teams to design and develop groundbreaking medical devices! You will be responsible for:

• Lead cross-functional teams to tie all aspects of the system together and meet

• program goals

• Serve as a liaison between clinical/marketing, program management, and the

• engineering design teams

• Translate clinical and business needs to system requirements

• Generate use cases, trade studies, and risk assessments to facilitate systematic

• trade-off decisions and robust engineering solutions

• Develop test methods to accurately characterize, and verify the system design

• against performance requirements

• Build prototypes and fixtures for data acquisition and analysis

• Work cross-disciplinarily to provide hands-on system troubleshooting and

• debugging

• Utilize sound engineering methods and documentation processes to perform design

• reviews and failure mode analyses

Qualifications / Requirements:

• BS/BA Degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical or any

• related engineering field

• 2+ years working experience in industry or in a research environment – medical device experience is a plus

• Good understanding of system lifecycle phases and design control processes

• Ability to work independently as well as on a multifunctional team

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations preferred (i.e. FDA CFR Part 820 and/or ISO

• 13485)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency with C++, Python, or Matlab is preferred.

• Proficiency with SolidWorks is preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to travel up to 10% domestic US and Internationally

California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $103,000 to $165,600.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
