Your Career

Become a member of our accounting organization at Palo Alto Networks! We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Senior Manager of Accounting who is excited to join a team with an eye for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate would possess strong critical thinking skills in addition to communication and collaboration skills. This person will partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand business transactions and ensure the proper accounting and reflection of transactions in addition to working on process optimization and high impact projects. The position requires a hands-on person who is flexible, solutions-oriented and works well in a fast paced environment.

Your Impact

  • Drive change across the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) organization and be willing to wear multiple hats (process optimization, accounting, project management and execution) to do what it takes to “move the needle”

  • Pressure test current processes and use first principles to design future state business processes to create operational efficiencies

  • Work collaboratively across a cross-functional set of stakeholders to gather the right information, pressure test hypotheses, articulate problems clearly, mobilize a project team, implement solutions and drive accountability

  • Structure and bite-size large complex projects into an executable plan

  • Conduct financial analysis and be able to evaluate explanations and or unusual trends or relationships on the financial statements

  • Create deliverables (business case memos, key decision documents, presentations, etc.) that are clear and support processes or conclusions reached

  • Have an ownership mindset and take an interest in accounting results and understanding underlying processes and inputs for respective areas

  • Ensure compliance with SOX 404 key controls and support the financial audit where appropriate

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent military experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years of related work experience

  • Operational or SAP experience is a plus

  • Experience writing accounting positions and memos

  • Experience assessing end to end processes

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to manage priorities and timelines

  • Team player and effective communicator with ability to coach down as well as communicate at more executive level

  • Great leader and teammate, willing to passionately roll up their sleeves and work cross-functionally to get things done

  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with minimal supervision

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, deal with changing priorities and drive accountability

The Team

The Chief Accounting Officer plays a pivotal role in our company's success by ensuring that our processes are optimized and compliant with regulatory standards. We partner closely with our legal, finance, IT and business teams, to not only safeguard the company against potential compliance and financial reporting risks, but also to ensure our processes are operating in an effective and efficient manner. Their expertise in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and their dedication to maintaining high standards of integrity are crucial in protecting the company's financial health and fostering sustainable growth.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $138000 - $223500/YR.
