AWS HealthImaging is a HIPAA-eligible service that helps healthcare and life science organizations and their software partners to store, analyze, and share medical imaging data at petabyte scale. Our mission is to provide the best experience for working with medical imaging in the cloud. As part of this mission, we leverage customer obsession and technologies to help customers analyze vast volumes of medical imaging data accrued in their enterprise archives.

AWS HealthImaging increases the pace of innovation for radiologists, health systems, and research teams. We are looking for strong software engineers to help unlock the potential of imaging data, develop more personalized approaches to care delivery, and operational efficiency. Individuals interested in this position should have experience building high-performing, reliable systems in a complex, multi-tenancy, and distributed environment in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are interested in building highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems, and low latency request processing. You are capable in one or more programming languages and open to learning new ones. You value operational sustainability and advocate for eliminating flaky tests as soon as possible. You also think having fun goes together with tackling hard problems like high availability, streaming, and building loosely coupled micro-services all while continuing to securely and reliably handling massive traffic with millisecond latency. Responsibilities include driving architecture, design and implementation of complex components while maintaining an uncompromising bar on quality, security, and mentoring junior developers within the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
