Applied Materials Senior Regulatory Engineer in Santa Clara, California

We are seeking a regulatory engineer who is able to lead our regulatory advisory panel (RAP), support key gap regulations for compliance and potentially supervise or mentor key individuals. The qualified person will have experience leading global or regional teams and knowledge of environmental regulations and be familiar with semiconductor equipment and processes. This position reports to the Global Environmental Manager.

General Profile: Manages professionals remotely. Is accountable for the performance and results of the RAP. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business unit, department, or sub-function plan; receives guidance from manager. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers on compliance for key regulations. Evaluates regulatory impacts for emerging laws for the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities

Able to lead and mentor and supervise a team of young environmental professionals. Ability to manage up and sideways. Manage environmental team to provide expertise and guidance on environmental requirements for projects and design review including tool installs, abatement units, facility upgrades, and construction. Maintain communication channel with site/location functions. This role will directly support our global footprint and should have the ability to understand international standards. This position is a remote based position with some travel required (up to 25%). Project manage and lead the regulatory advisory panel (RAP). Interface with all levels of the organization and manage action items, compliance tools and organize meetings across the global enterprise. Track and trend EH&S and Product related legislation and take appropriate action to comply with requirements. Participate in evaluation of emerging global environmental regulations and assess impact to operations. Communicates EH&S Environmental issues to all necessary management and employees. Generates necessary reports and documentation. Evaluate regulatory tracking software and provide guidance on best tool for implementation. Oversee and lead the Toxic Substance and Control Act (TSCA) for compliance. Maintain the corporate standard/guidance document. Provide TSCA import paperwork as needed. Support Haz Mat and shipping activities across the country and borders. Experience with DOT and shipping requirements is a plus. Oversee consultants as needed to help drive environmental performance and compliance. Experience with Gensuite implementation or equivalent management system is a plus.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

10+ years of EHS technical experience with minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience in leading regional teams. Relevant professional designations (REM, CHMM) a plus but not required.

U.S. Salary Range:

$132,000.00 - $181,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
