Your Career
We are looking for a motivated leader in the capacity of a Manager for our team and you will be at the heart of our software-driven approach to infrastructure and operations. You will play a pivotal role in managing deliverables for the sophisticated internal platform tools vital to our engineering teams' productivity and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep-rooted background in software engineering and a strong understanding of the needs and challenges of R&D and DevOps teams. Your Impact
Set goals and milestones for the team based on requests from multiple engineering teams
Deliver high-quality results with full ownership and take the product/tool/service to the next level
Juggle competing deliverables and the skills to make quick decisions based on changing priorities
Build, grow and nurture a high-performing team, including hiring, mentoring, and professional development
Contribute to seamless 24/7 round-the-clock engineering workflows in conjunction with the regional teams in the organization
Implement and promote Agile methodologies and SRE/DevOps practices to streamline development processes
Own career development of the team through active coaching
Foster a strong team culture of engineering excellence, customer passion, collaboration, diversity and inclusion
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including upper management, to provide updates on project progress, risks, and roadblocks
Facilitate clear and open communication with cross-functional teams
Your Experience
5+ years of software engineering background before becoming a Manager
2+ years of experience managing a team of engineers primarily working with a major public cloud provider (GCP preferred).
Deep knowledge of modern infrastructure management and engineering practice, including Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., GCP , AWS , Terraform, K8s , etc.)
Solid understanding in at least one of the public cloud technologies (GCP, AWS , Azure)
Deep knowledge of modern software development tools/ways of working (e.g., git/GitHub, DevOps tools, metrics/monitoring) and development environments to provide DevOps services and solutions
Experience with building tools to improve the reliability of systems, automated remediation of issues, or improve scalability with hands-on experience collecting performance data, analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning
Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Active listening, conflict resolution skills, strong problem-solving abilities
Capacity to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions quickly
Understanding of the company's business goals and the ability to align team efforts accordingly
The Team
Palo Alto Networks' Cortex group of products XDR, XSIAM , XSOAR Platform enables organizations to embrace digital transformation securely, leveraging automation, analytics, and continuous innovation. Designed for ease of use and automation, it empowers customers to prevent cyberattacks and focus on priorities. Through our Application Framework, we foster an open ecosystem of developers, maximizing the value of existing investments in data and security infrastructure. We are the Cortex DevOps Tooling team and are the powerhouse behind the infrastructure, cost optimization, and security, driving customer tenants' orchestration and lifecycle management across our suite of SaaS products.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $215,000 - $245,000/YR.
