Eightfold is looking for an exceptional security leader to establish and lead a global security team responsible for Eightfold’s products and infrastructure security.

As both a senior level leader and individual contributor, you are a hands-on leader responsible for leading product security efforts across our entire product line. This role requires a unique blend of real-world experience and theoretical knowledge in various aspects of SDLC and security, including but not limited to application security, cloud security, secure coding practices, and security architecture.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of: building/launching software features, hands-on security work and the ability to lead a team of security professionals. The ideal candidate is also an effective communicator who can pitch solutions for complex problems in a simple and articulated way, adjusting communication style to the audience (Customers, Software developers, and other leaders).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and tools to developers that help prevent the authoring of vulnerabilities.

• Build automation (static and dynamic analysis) and frameworks with software engineers that enable Eightfold to scale consistently across all of our products.

• Conduct hands-on security assessments (including penetration testing), including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, code reviews and risk assessments for all products in the Eightfold platform.

• Support continued compliance with SOC2, ISO, FedRamp, DOD IL4 and other currently required standards and act as Product and Engineering technical lead. Ensure operation of related controls. Coordinate the collection and submission of required evidence for audits.

• Lead incident response activities and post-mortem analysis for any security breaches or incidents, liaising with the Legal, Security and Privacy teams on data protection, ensuring root causes of such breaches are understood and addressed

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

• Strong expertise in software engineering best practices

• Strong knowledge of security best practices, threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.

Preferred Qualifications

• MIn of 5+ years of experience in a prior/current Software development role

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail

• Ability to communicate with empathy when delivering constructive feedback to engineers

Please note this role is open to most US locations and categorized as:

Hybrid in Zone A. The base salary range below is for pay transparency. Base pay is only one piece of our total compensation package as this role may be eligible for bonuses and equity awards. Compensation varies depending on several factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Zones are determined by location.

Zone A (SF Bay Area) Salary Range: $226,000 to $266,000 + 20% Bonus + PreIPO equity
