GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Center of Excellence Coordination Manager is a critical new role responsible for alignment on major project prioritization and execution across the three Centers of Excellence. This role will report to the Global Engineering COE Process Optimization leader with dotted lines to Mechanical, Electrical, and Software & Controls COE’s.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help prioritize programs on behalf of the COE’s and get agreement from BU’s on major resource priorities.

  • Work across Collaboration Leaders to ensure alignment across COE’s for major programs. Ensure COE’s are collaborating and communicating.

  • Influence across disciplines to ensure alignment on prioritization and timing of major projects, including dependencies between COE’s.

  • Identify and escalate risks on major projects to appropriate parties; manage partnering with project leaders to drive the risk to resolution.

  • Ensures all job tickets are entered and tracked through Job Ticket Tracking System (JTTS).

  • Responsible to ensure all job tickets are dispositioned in a timely manner and appropriate cross-COE Disciplines have acknowledged and responded to important tickets.

  • Ensure correct Disciplines are engaged in major programs.

  • Manages metrics and dashboards off all COE’s, own quarterly true-up

  • Facilitates monthly COE Alignment meetings with BU including assembling prework materials, ensuring appropriate participation, and following up on action items.

  • Facilitate cross-COE decisions on major resource allocation and timing considerations.

  • Facilitate cross-COE AOP consolidation, leveraging JTTS to understand work scope.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication to inform, influence, and lead diverse audiences, including but not limited to cross functional team members, senior leaders, and executives.

  • Strong competency in English and able to work seamlessly across organizational and geographic boundaries.

  • Ability to lead in a matrixed organization.

  • Comfort working autonomously and on ambiguous issues, takes ownership of outcomes.

  • Success at prioritizing issues and focus in a busy, chaotic environment.

  • Exceptional organizational skills

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other technical field and have 5+ years of leadership experience.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in new product and / or technology development

  • Experience working effectively across matrixed cross-functional teams.

  • Should have a good understanding of the Software & Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and Technologies functions.

  • Project Management Experience or PMI preferred.

  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes.

  • Business strategy experience and skill set to ensure objectives are aligned with broader business and other functional organization goals.

  • Experience and expertise with coaching and developing employees to improve organizational skill and capacity while achieving goals and objectives.

In-person role at an engineering hub.
