Description

If you're looking for an opportunity to join a growing company then look no further! Broadwind Industrial Solutions is hiring for a Quality Manager to join our team in Sanford, NC. The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the companys quality processes in accordance with customer and company requirements. This position will be the primary company representative to customers, suppliers, and internal departments on all quality-related issues. Experience with ISO9001 is a must with the ideal candidate having worked directly with OEM's from a customer quality documentation perspective.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Represents the company to the customer on all quality- related issues in meetings and correspondence.
  • Manages the customer specified product qualification process. Prepares, reviews, and submits all product qualification documentation packages to customers.
  • Manages the non-conformance processes (NCR, CAR, SCAR).
  • Manages calibration and testing programs in compliance with ISO and customer requirements.
  • Interfaces with supplier and customer quality and representatives concerning problems with quality control and product specifications and ensure that effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Serves as the primary quality resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Designs, develops, and implements quality documents, procedures, work instructions, and control plans as needed.
  • Designs and validates inspection and testing requirements and establishes work procedures and process controls for new products.
  • Manages quality resources to support daily production needs.
  • Facilitates root cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Designs, implements, and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Maintains ISO certification status.
  • Manages the internal and external audit processes.
  • Evaluates new suppliers and performs qualification audit/review.
  • Manages supplier quality scorecard/report and notifies suppliers via SCAR when defect level is above standard.
  • Reviews customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality control plans.
  • Manages the Advance Product Quality Planning, PPAP, and FAI processes as needed.
  • All other reasonable duties, as assigned.

Requirements

Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications:

  • Bachelors or associate degree in a technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the quality field in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience/expertise working with the APQP, PPAP, and FMEA processes.
  • Experience in ISO certification/qualification is a must.
  • 2+ years of experience managing quality personnel.

Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and improve processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs.
  • Possess employee development and performance management skills.
  • Strong understanding ISO 9001, APQP and PPAP requirements.
  • Analytically strong with exceptional reasoning skills.
  • Ability t recruit, train, retain top organizational talent.
  • Able to travel based on business needs (10% or more).
