The Project Engineer and Environmental Health & Safety Manager is a key leader, responsible for the development and implementation of the site end to end Engineering roadmap including capital projects, technology transfer, performance and reliability of the plant. The role is involved in the utilization of internal and external resources to drive continuous improvement projects. This role will also ensure the safety and health of plant employees, community and environment with compliance with all government regulations and Colgate EHS Standards & Guidelines. The position is part of the leadership team and has one direct report.

What you will do:

  • Develop all aspects of project management; project definition, project planning, capital expenditure management, and technology transfer associated with capital projects, new materials and new products.

  • Support the design, specification, installation, start up, troubleshooting and improvement of equipment and systems.

  • Develop new insights and drive innovative engineering and processing solutions to reduce costs and improve process capability and quality.

  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with Colgate-Palmolive, local, state, and federal standards and guidelines related to Safety, Quality, and Regulatory.

  • Run the EHS budget.

  • Lead hazardous & solid waste programs; wastewater & stormwater programs; first responders; fork truck safety; industrial hygiene & medical surveillance programs.

  • Responsible for performing job hazard analysis and identifying risks.

  • Handle incident reporting via Incident Management System.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • 7+ years of functional experience in manufacturing engineering/supply chain operation

  • 3+ years of strong project management / engineering from project concept through implementation

  • Able to support a 24/5 operation including weekends and holidays based on project demands.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or any related field

  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and validation

  • Knowledge of the Capital Procurement preferred

  • Prior experience with manufacturing of consumer goods products or food manufacturing

  • Prior experience with food safety requirements and standards

  • Mastery of EHS Principles, and compliance management of regulations i.e. obtained via OSHA 30 hour course, EPA and DOT

  • Continuous improvement and/or lean six sigma experience or certification.

  • Experience in SAP (Systems Applications and Products)

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $115 200,00 - $144 000,00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
