Description

We are seeking a strong individual to join our Accounts Payable Team as a Settlement Specialist. This individual will report to the Accounting Supervisor and will work closely with external suppliers recycling customer service representatives recycling buyers and multiple corporate teams. The Settlement Specialist role will utilize strong communication skills as well analysis research and problem solving. He/She will be involved in creating monthly reports for major vendors partnering with vendors regarding inquiries around payments discrepancies and any questions around accounts.

This role will be HYBRID after training.

Your responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of analytic skills to verify data for accuracy and completeness

• Work on division wide processes such as escheatment and negative account balances

• Involved in team projects including root cause analysis process mapping intergroup process streamlining etc.

• Reviewing adjustments submitted by customer service for accuracy and completeness before entering in system

• Problem solving on daily processes such as system data transmission and dedicated freight processing

  Requirements

TOP 3 MUST HAVES

-Intermediate Excel Pivot/Vlookup current experience

-Analytic/Problem Solving skills in a fast paced environment

-Multi-task under fluid daily task priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelors Degree ideally in Accounting Finance Business or other similar discipline OR 2 years experience with accounting or a related function is ideal

• Understanding of accounts payable processes and the financial impacts involved

• Intermediate or above experience with Microsoft Excel

• Proficiency in use of Microsoft tools

• Order entry systems / JD Edwards experience a plus

• Organization in maintaining status of large customer portfolios

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written

• Experience in analysis research and problem solving
