Bay Area Community Resources West County First 5 Center Director in San Pablo, California
We are looking for an innovative, strategic, and flexible leader to provide oversight of the West County First 5 Center in San Pablo. The West County First 5 Center is a safe and welcoming hub serving families with young children ages 0-5 years with no-cost activities such as parent/child interactive classes, parent education, developmental screenings, and community resources. Funded by First 5 Contra Costa and operated by Bay Area Community Resources (BACR), the First 5 Center serves as an early childhood resource for local families and community partners.
The Director of the First 5 Center in San Pablo is responsible for the overall success of the Center by ensuring quality family strengthening programs and building positive relationships with community members, partners, and program participants. The Director of the First 5 Center oversees management of programs and contracts, staff supervision, budget, and outreach activities.
Benefits:
Compensation: Annually, $88,000 - $93,000 (DOE)
Full-Time, Exempt, may require some evenings and Saturdays.
16 paid BACR holidays

Professional development opportunities
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field; or four to ten years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Keen interest in working with the complexities of a family resource center--holding the vision and mission while attending to the granular details needed to maintain programming and operations
Experience with program planning, implementation, evaluation, and community organizing
Experience with budget management
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to adapt as program needs evolve
Ability to balance and strategize concurrent projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including group presentations and group facilitation
Ability to exemplify strong interpersonal skills, work with individuals from varied backgrounds, and support others in navigating through a diverse environment
Knowledge of early childhood education principles as well as trauma informed/healing centered practices is a plus
Responsibilities:
Engage in program development and strategic planning with Center team, First 5 Contra Costa and BACR
Ensure First 5 Center operations meet standards and procedure criteria
Manage hiring, training, and supervision of staff, including Community Resource Specialist, Early Childhood Educators and support staff
Ensure program affirms and strengthens participants’ cultural, racial, and linguistic identities and enhance their ability to interact meaningfully in a diverse environment
Support staff and participants to advance equity and inclusion through outreach, programming, and leadership opportunities
Ensure programs are flexible and continually responsive to emerging family and community issues
Monitor program quality and fidelity for staff and subcontracted instructors
Provide reflective supervision to staff
Establish and monitor community partner MOU’s for in-kind programming
Participate in collaborative meetings with community partners and funders
Document and report outcome and evaluation measures in database
Monitor existing grant funding; provide budget review and financial oversight and related reports per internal and contract requirements
Support and participate in other community activities at the First 5 Center as applicable

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
