General Description

Accountable for the asset strategy from proof of concept through global product launch and lifecycle management (LCM), in alignment with disease area and portfolio strategy. Lead the Global Product Team (GPT), a cross-functional team responsible for establishing, driving, and executing a global strategy for a single asset across its entire life cycle — from clinical development to late-stage pivotal studies, then through commercial launch and market access, and finally into post-marketing commitments, asset growth and patent expiration.

Essential Function of the Job:

  • Establish and oversee the development of the program’s vision and integrated strategy throughout the product lifecycle to maximize value for BeiGene and for the healthcare ecosystem.

  • Build and lead a high-performing Global Product Team, advocating for appropriate resourcing and ensuring line of sight across all relevant functions to deliver on the program vision and strategy.

  • Acts at an enterprise level to advocate for the asset in alignment with business priorities.

  • Ensure cross functional strategic input is embedded in the clinical development plans and regulatory strategy including trial design, endpoints, appropriate comparators, Target Product Profile (TPP) and regulatory pathway, to ensure commercial success and global market access.

  • Act as a role model and ambassador for both internal and external stakeholder engagement in strategy development, communicating the science story and differentiation of the molecule.

  • Lead integrated product development and commercialization plans which are aligned with business objectives and are differentiated from competition.

  • Communicate the development strategy at governance meetings to secure funding and endorsement of the strategy.

  • Hold self and team accountable for delivery of governance-approved business cases in collaboration with the global commercial franchise leader and functional management for alignment.

  • Effectively manage, mitigate risk, and then communicate risk and present potential strategies to mitigate risk to senior leadership.

  • Work collaboratively with global and regional commercial teams to generate, evaluate, and deliver robust commercial strategies and plans. Defines the range of LCM investment options/business cases and makes recommendations for /decision on investment, to maximize the value of the Brand’s portfolio.

  • Provide leadership support of the multidisciplinary sub-teams whose work ladders up to the GPT and supports the product strategy.

  • Partner with Global Program Manager assigned to GPT to translate goals and strategy into actionable plans which deliver business value. Execute plans within established guard-rails, proactively managing risks and issues. Drive team effectiveness and alignment with program governance processes.

  • Responsible for maintaining high team effectiveness through collaboration, influence, coaching and mentoring of cross-functional team members.

  • Partner with other GPTs in developing disease area or franchise-wide strategies and maximizing synergies with BeiGene assets.

  • Partner with Investor Relations and Corporate Communications to develop and actively manage the external messages for the analyst community in collaboration with clinical development lead.

  • Collaborate with Business Development and other relevant functions in discussions with external partners to maximize lifecycle opportunities.

  • Ensure appropriate Governance and Compliance and protects BeiGene’s Rights, Data, and Intellectual Property.

Other Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Advanced degree with relevant experience in hematological malignancies

  • Proven ability to demonstrate a flexible leadership style and communication to work effectively in a global, cross-functional matrix organization. Ability to work effectively in diverse cultures

  • Demonstrated clinical research expertise in Oncology with a preference for direct expertise in Hematological Malignancies

  • Experience in drug development and global commercialization across the product lifecycle

  • Business acumen - understands unmet market needs; development of product strategies, provides clear path to win; demonstrated track record in driving innovation through to the global commercialization of assets

  • Enterprise thinker with ability to sense the system and problem solve

  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment engaging senior leadership, driving business outcomes in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Demonstrated ability to take decisions that positively impact the business

  • Strategic and Decisive Leader - le adership skills that demonstrate energy, passion, courage, vision and demonstrated competence in thinking strategically, analytically, and innovatively. Able to analyze and provide solutions to complex challenges quickly and creatively. Proven experience as a successful decisive leader in a strategic multifunctional environment.

  • Experience with global, regulatory submissions and interacting with major health authorities; NDA (New Drug Application) and/or BLA (Biologics License Application) submission experience strongly desired

  • Ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization

Education/Experience Required:

Advanced degree /10+ years in drug development, product strategy & global commercialization, leading cross-functional teams

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages matrix cross-functional asset team & oversight for supporting functional sub-teams

Computer Skills: Microsoft suite, CTMS, Reporting tools

Location: Remote

Travel Required: Meetings/conferences, key external expert meetings, face to face team meetings. Travel to San Mateo for F2F meetings quarterly, at a minimum. Ability to travel nationally and internationally, up to 50%.
