Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Previous job experience requiring a sound understanding of GIS and Cartography theories, principles, and implementation techniques.

  • Experience field/site mapping, determining property boundaries, elevations, utility routes, and building placements.

  • Demonstrated skill in researching and preparing clear, concise, and detailed maps, reports, and property descriptions.

  • Ability to read construction blueprints and schematics.

  • Proficiency using ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in any of the following: GIS , Surveying, Technology; Or 2 years of professional experience in field mapping or surveying, data colleting, and processing.

Job Description

Responsible for creating and providing GIS and mapping services for TXST University.

Job Duties

  • Provide, maintain, and update instructive and thematic campus maps and facilities information.

  • Provide building plans and various manuals as needed for construction and research projects.

  • Operate GPS to update, maintain, and publish utility map information.

  • Utilize land survey information and files for mapping purposes.

  • Archive, organize, maintain, and update facilities plan-room and CADD floor plans.

  • Create, update, and maintain all GIS data files.

  • Research, and keep current, property boundaries and land titles of all university properties for mapping purposes.

  • Draft designs and site maps for future construction projects.

  • Research, develop, and implement new techniques in GIS , mapping, and CADD file maintenance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
