TITLE: System Information Technician

PERFORMANCE

REPORTS TO: System Information Manager

STATUS : þ Full time o Part Time

CLASIFICATION (FLSA): þ Exempt o Non-Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Determine the basis of problems related to equipment and systems. Takes corrective action to maintain the operation of the organization’s information networks in optimal conditions. Manage and modify operating systems. Train internal users of the company, designs systems, applications, modifies and implements databases.

TASKS AND ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate complex problems to suppliers and repair companies to be corrected.

  • Manages and modifies operating systems.

  • Coordinate and facilitate training the internal users of the organization.

  • Design systems and applications.

  • Design, modify and implement database.

  • Develop procedures for system users.

  • Analyze computer systems and level-specific programs.

  • Modify utilities, tools, programs and functionalities of external suppliers.

  • Evaluate operating systems and provide recommendations for possible applications.

  • Install systems and train operators in the use of a variety of systems.

  • Program, verify, and install microcomputers and peripheral equipment.

  • Handle and fix problems and takes preventive corrective measures.

  • Work and maintain required job security standards as part of their essential duties.

  • Implement, maintain and review the security measures defined by the asset owners.

  • Report and record any incident, vulnerability and opportunity for improvement in the field of Information Security.

  • Safeguard the information system of the company and that which has been entrusted to it.

    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor degree in system information.

  • At least two (2) to four (4) years of experience working in related field.

  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

  • Education and Training — Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

  • Interacting With Computers — Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.

  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

  • Processing Information — Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

  • Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

  • Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings — Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.

  • Monitoring and Controlling Resources — Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.

  • Performing Administrative Activities — Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normal internal office environment with some travel to Club locations across Puerto Rico. Availability to engage funders on evenings and weekends are a core part of this position. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required. Drive for more than three consecutive ours.
