We built our company on the belief that with smarter technology we are redefining pharmacy benefits, but this is just the beginning...As the drug value strategy senior manager, you will be a key part of the team, leveraging expertise combined with data to provide models and tools that deliver key insights. One of the key responsibilities of this role is centered on specialty drugs. The key specialty responsibilities for this role involve developing a specialty quarterly business review (with analytics), overseeing the specialty pharmacy network’s clinical initiatives and providing suggestions and metric tracking, and developing an ability to audit specialty claims. This role will also have a key role in working with our actuarial team to develop drug forecasts, budget impact models, and benchmark tools as part of the DVS portfolio of offerings. For this critical role, the best person would be a current (or future) data expert that has pharmacy experience in a managed care setting. The person would need to be comfortable with pharmacy analytics, strategy, and operations and be excited for the opportunity to shape programs at an innovative and modern PBM. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop initiatives and tools geared at providing actionable insights to our clients.The fundamentals for the job…Develop and manage new and innovative specialty programs based on collaboration with the specialty network of pharmacies and track progress (partnerships (i.e. ROI, launch of initiatives, outreach, metric tracking, etc.)Develop monthly and quarterly specialty spend reports to include initiatives, trends in the market, pipeline drugs, and other impactful eventsOptimize and manage specialty claims auditing process (in conjunction with analytics team)Drive generation of client facing tools that help with feasibility, context, and budget and drug forecast modelsWork with our actuarial strategist on developing real world data budget impact modelsDesign and help develop complex healthcare analyses for diverse clientsEnsure regulatory standards are met across all drug value programs and the drug value strategy team is informed of new upcoming regulations. This includes CMS and other government changes impacting rebates, reporting, pricing, and other applicable processesSupport relationship and project management for key clients for relevant DVS offerings (such as predictive models, rfps/underwriting, new pricing models, and innovative rebates and contracts)Other tasks and projects as assignedWhat we expect of youThe bold requirements…Pharmacy Degree (PharmD or RPh) required. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant experience may be considered.)8+ years of experience with formulary, pharmacy & therapeutics (P&T), drug utilization management programs in health plan or pharmacy benefit manager (PBM).Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.Experience in project management, KPI’s, and data visualization.Experience managing key strategic initiatives in healthcare/PBM industry.Experience with Excel, pivot, and other Microsoft products.Excellent oral and written communication skills.We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site work days (Puerto Rico Location Only).Nice to haves…SQL coding familiarity a big plus.Physical requirements…Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.At Abarca we value and celebrate diversity.
