TITLE: Maintenance & Facilities Technician

PROFILE SOURCE: Technician

AREA: Administration & Operations

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

STATUS:  Full time

CLASIFICATION (FLSA):  Non-Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for keeping Central Office’s common areas clean and in optimal condition at all times. Pick up and deliver messages, documents, packages, and other items between offices, clubs and units, traveling by organization automobile.

TASKS AND ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspect internal and external areas daily, and will inform the immediate supervisor of any damage.

  2. Clean all areas daily in order to maintain a safe and appealing place for employees and visitors.

  3. Maintain contact with staff and supervisor to receive and provide information, discuss situations, explain guides and instructions and offer advice.

  4. Perform routine cleaning maintenance ensuring health and safety measures.

  5. Clean and polish floors using the equipment necessary this purpose.

  6. Provide support to the Clubs and will mobilize if necessary to carry out maintenance-related tasks. 7. Deliver and pick up letters, documents, packages, and other items to and from Central Office and other organizational facilities. 8. Maintain inventory of merchandise, materials and equipment in Central Office and other organizational facilities such as the warehouse. 9. Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel.

  7. Perform any other task requested by the supervisor.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

 High school diploma.

 At least one (1) year or more of experience working in maintenance and/or repairs.

 Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.  Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.  Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings — Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.

 Documenting/Recording Information — Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.  Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.  Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.  Independence — Job requires developing one's own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done.  Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. May reach above shoulder height or below the waist and lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds and use proper lifting techniques.  Performing General Physical Activities — performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
