Reports To: Director, HR Business Partner and People Relations

Location: San Jose, California

Salary Range: $165,000 to $195,000

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. THE PEOPLE TEAM

With services like internal communications, marketing, talent management, employee relations, and total rewards, the People Team supports the nearly 4,000 employees at CEI who safely engineer and build complex commercial, data center and energy projects across the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

HR Business Partners (or HRBP for short) helps align the organization’s people strategy with its business strategy and goals. This Sr. HRBP will not only be an administrative pro and a people champion, but also a change agent and a strategic partner for the business. Partners with business leaders and line managers on setting priorities, driving values, and execute the organization’s people strategy, delivering business results. The Sr. HRBP will pay a critical role in translating strategic vision into actionable people related initiatives.

  • Conduct regular meetings with business leaders, providing HR advice and guidance where necessary. Travel on a regular cadence to jobsites to provide regular HR presence.

  • Partner with HR Shared Services on employee experience with HR onboarding.

  • Identify training needs in partnership with Business Leaders, People Relations Partners within the organization and collaborate with the Talent Development function to align training programs.

  • In partnership with Business Leaders and the Director of HR Business Partner and People Relations, ensure the company’s workforce is appropriately sized, and agile for the future.

  • In partnership with People Relations Partners and Legal partner, stay informed about employment laws, regulations and other legal requirement related to people management.

  • Working with the HRBP and People Relations team offer guidance on the creation, revisions and ensure effective implementation of HR processes and policies.

  • Exceptional Communication: Effective communication is crucial for partnering with business leaders and employees.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: HRBPs analyze data, identify trends, and solve complex HR challenges.

  • Knowledge of Employment Laws: Understanding local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.

  • Relationship Building: Ability to build solid relationships with business leaders and stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Thriving in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Change Management and Organization Development

  • Led change management assessments, applying structured methodologies to drive successful transitions.

  • Integrated change management activities into project plans, ensuring seamless implementation.

  • Created and delivered Organization Change Management roadmaps, communication plans, coaching plans and training plans.

Business Acumen and Industry Knowledge

  • Demonstrated financial acumen by understanding business financials.

  • Analyzed market trends, conducted competitive analyses, and adapted strategies accordingly.

  • Leveraged industry insights to inform decision-making and drive organizational success

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree: Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

Licensure/Certifications: None required.

Experience: At least 5-8 years in Human Resources, preferably in a business partnering role.
