As an Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) supporting the Embedded Business Unit (EBU), you will be a member of the Industrial Multi Market (IMM) BDM team.

The role requires the ability to evangelize Micron’s memory & storage (NAND, NOR, DRAM, SSD, and uSD) value proposition within an assigned account base! The BDM will be responsible for identifying, developing, managing, and growing both new and existing accounts within A&D.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive deep relationships with customers, developing and presenting Micron's memory and storage vision and direction.

  • Oversee the identification, development, and expansion of customer base and business opportunities. New business pursuits will involve multi-level and cross-division efforts, which will require building credibility and developing relationships both inside and outside of Micron.

  • Apply business and industry knowledge to research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, build/identify compelling opportunities, and prepare detailed business cases and recommendations.

  • Maintain appropriate level of oversight to ensure compliance with A&D industry regulations, regulatory agencies, export laws, and technology transfer as they apply to proposal development and contract negotiation.

  • Provide sales and technical support to sales team and customers.

  • Identify strategic A&D opportunities by researching markets, analyzing trends, and identifying high-value prospects. Develop compelling strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Lead market penetration activities for A&D.

  • Conduct in-depth competitor analysis. Devise effective strategies to enhance what makes us great and market presence.

  • Provide regular forecasting and pipeline updates.

Qualifications:

  • BSEE or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer interfacing roles within A&D including commercial space.

  • Demonstrated deep understanding of the A&D and space market, customer base, eco-system, unique requirements, and memory and storage trends.

  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and orally.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong track record collaborating with cross functional team members to achieve goals.

  • Prior experience in direct key account development and sales, and experience selling to the major military primes.

  • Application system knowledge including aeronautics, missile systems, commercial space, electronic warfare, radar, and ground combat vehicles.

  • Knowledge of customers’ purchasing department structures and decision-making processes.

  • Deep understanding of military and aerospace supply chain operations, compliance standards, and security protocols.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to affect organizational change in challenging environments.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to determine solutions to complex technical/contractual issues.

  • A demonstrated capability to think strategically, implement tactically, and optimally negotiate.

  • Must be adept at achieving results through multiple interpersonal functions without direct authority and through influence and negotiation.

  • Government contracts require the applicant to be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.

  • U.S. military service is a plus.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$140,000.00 - $286,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
