Robert Half Payroll Administrator in San Jose, California

Description

We are in need of a skilled Payroll Administrator / HR Generalist to join our team in San Jose, California. The role involves managing complex payroll procedures using ADP software, understanding and applying HR practices and labor laws, as well as handling other HR aspects such as recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, and manage efficient payroll operations for employees using the ADP system.

• Rectify any discrepancies in payroll, update payroll records regularly, and ensure their accuracy.

• Handle inquiries regarding payroll from employees and resolve them promptly.

• Assist in HR operations like recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, and employee retention.

• Stay updated with current labor laws to ensure policies and practices are compliant.

• Communicate with the finance and HR teams to authenticate and update payroll data.

• Contribute to employee benefits and compensation plans that help attract and retain employees.

• Develop and implement organizational policies and practices as required.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding payroll and sensitive HR-related information.

• Utilize skills such as 'ADP Workforce Now', 'Ceridian', 'Microsoft Excel', '401k - RRSP Administration', 'Accounting Functions', 'Benefit Functions', 'ADP - Payroll', 'Benefits Administration', 'Workers Compensation', 'OSHA', 'Maintain Employee Handbook', 'Process Bi-weekly Payroll', 'Weekly Payroll'.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role

• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with 401k and RRSP Administration

• Familiarity with accounting and benefits functions

• Experience with ADP Payroll and Benefits Administration

• Knowledge of Workers Compensation and OSHA regulations

• Ability to maintain and update Employee Handbook

• Experience in processing Bi-weekly and Weekly Payroll

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR is preferred

• Strong attention to detail and good organizational and time-management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle confidential information

• Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
