Description

We are in search of a part-time Medical Receptionist for our non-profit organization based in San Jose, California. The role involves playing a crucial part in our healthcare services, managing patient scheduling, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and healthcare professionals. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Role: Medical Receptionist

Hours: 10am-2:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage incoming calls from the Call Center, providing necessary information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.

• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments as per patient needs and availability.

• Ensure the prompt greeting of individuals entering the lobby, ascertain the purpose of their visit, and guide them to the relevant destinations.

• Monitor and manage call hold times to prevent long waiting periods for callers.

• Relay patient questions, requests, and other messages to the relevant person or department.

• Regularly update and verify all patient demographic and insurance information to maintain accurate records.

• Regularly communicate with the supervisor about the status of operations, patient access, medical records, insurance coverage updates, and other related issues.

• Resolve patient inquiries, complaints, or concerns regarding their accounts or appointments in a timely and professional manner.

• Collect payments from patients in accordance with the organization's cash handling policies.

• Check insurance and verify eligibility information for all patients.

Requirements • Proficient knowledge of Basic Medical Terminology.

• Familiarity with Healthcare Environment and Healthcare Administration.

• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.

• Proficient in using Epic Software for healthcare management.

• Experience in handling Patient Records and maintaining confidentiality.

• Prior experience in Receptionist Duties, especially in a medical setting.

• Ability to schedule and manage Patient Appointments.

• Knowledge of Patient Insurance procedures and policies.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Excellent customer service skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
