Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Information Security Director in San Jose, California

Information Security Director will be responsible for security operations, security incident management and response, and threat intelligence.

  • Day-to-day security operations - detection and remediation of persistent threats to Cadence information assets.

  • Manage and maintain Cadence cybersecurity and security assurance certifications such as ISO, Cloud, and SOC certifications and accreditation.

  • Build and maintain security intelligence and analytics platform, proactively detect threats protecting Cadence assets and IP.

  • Identify and detect insider threats for data/IP loss using user behavioral analytics, risk techniques and security tools.

  • Perform quarterly security audits, table-top exercises, and end user awareness training to educate and manage Cybersecurity risks.

  • Conduct 3rd party security risk assessments in managing Cadence partners/suppliers who provide technology services and respond to Cadence sales team on Cybersecurity customer requests.

  • Perform threat assessments, publish threat advisory and manage the vulnerabilities.

  • Regularly update Cadence CISO on Cadence security KPI and key risk metrics.

Lead security incident team and manage command center during security incidents and update stakeholders and executives on incident and response.

Competency Skills Required:

  • Planning, organization, and time management skills.

  • Clear and concise technical and business communication, listening, speaking, and writing skills.

  • Must have experience running a global security operations center (GSOC).

  • Ability to build the GSOC program and KRIs for security posture improvements.

  • Understand and advise as it relates to matters of Cybersecurity, compliance, efficiency and industry standards.

  • Thorough understanding of relevant products and vendors.

  • Security intelligence, analytics, and developing playbooks for GSOC.

  • Comfortable enough to work under pressure, constantly adapt to the terrain and circumstances of a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent decision making skills and critical thinking.

    Qualifications and Special Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or Cybersecurity preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 10 years of experience with security processes and solutions.

  • Strong understanding of current security threats, techniques, and landscape, as well as a dedicated and self-driven desire to research current and emerging threats in the information security landscape.

  • Conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure designs, emerging technologies, products, and services.

  • Experience in security standards, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, NIST, & STIGs.

  • Should be able to research security vulnerability and threat and write threat advisory and advise IT operation team on remediation recommendations.

  • Ability to work in a group setting, lead and manage security operations team.

  • Good working knowledge in scripting language, Python, PowerShell, etc.

    Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (general security knowledge)

  • SANS GIAC certifications (security specialty)

  • Certified computer security incident handler (CSIH) or CERT

  • AWS/Azure vendor certifications (vendor)

The annual salary range for California is $161,000 to $299,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
