Reporting to the VP, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion and Talent Development, PayPal is seeking a Global Head of University Recruiting. The University Recruiting team is an enterprise-wide function that pipelines early in career talent and develops exceptional partnerships with academic institutions and organizations to support PayPal’s mission and to advance our corporate presence.

The Head of UR is responsible for creating and managing a variety of relationships and programs that enhance PayPal’s recruitment and engagement with students, faculty and universities and key external partners. This position oversees the launch of complex recruitment processes/programs and partners with senior leadership to address talent needs. Additionally, the team manages and continually improves upon a world-class interns, rotation and early career program through career development and networking experiences, and social media communications.

In addition, the Head of UR will be a leader in the broader Talent Acquisition function. He/she will lead a team of program managers to implement and facilitate PayPal’s intern/entry level hiring. The leader is responsible for providing innovative strategic direction in the area of university relations, diversity recruitment and leading a team to design world-class programs through campus partnerships supporting the business’s entry level hiring needs.

As the leader of the UR team, the following must be demonstrated: innovation in campus engagement, diversity recruitment, development and execution of overall campus strategy, alignment with changing needs of the business, building strategic partnerships, leading planning and implementation of annual summer intern program, managing an annual budget, maximizing the UR team through effective team alignments, motivating and developing the UR team, building cross functional relationships across Talent Acquisition, building relationships with all levels of leadership within the business, establishing metrics to maximize team effectiveness, identifying opportunities for efficiency and adjusting programs and processes accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate how PayPal engages students and implements our intern program.

  • Recruit, develop, motivate and retain a team of Recruiters.

  • Continually monitor business needs and align the team to maximize effectiveness.

  • Lead effectively and make strong and informed decisions.

  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across HR and Talent Acquisition.

  • Build and influence relationships and leverage alliances to garner support.

  • Provide guidance to team based on TA, and HR Goals as well as PayPal policy.

  • Demonstrate solid understanding, adherence and enforcement of internal staffing process as well as lead the development of intern program improvements.

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and recommend changes to programs and processes accordingly.

  • Seek out and advise TA partners on innovative talent approaches and cutting-edge recruitment practices with emerging generations.

  • In partnership with the TA leadership, adjust University Recruiting strategy and align it with the changing needs of the business.

  • Analyze program reports and team performance.

  • Monitor and drive performance towards defined metrics.

  • Develop and present information on University Recruiting results and metrics at different levels (i.e. to employees, peers and senior level HR and client groups).

  • May lead and or participate in HR related projects or enterprise wide initiatives.

  • Under the direction of the VP, recommend and manage the team’s annual budget.

  • Anticipate future trends by continuously analyzing and addressing market conditions/

  • Integrate industry best practices throughout the intern programs.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • BA or BS in business, science or relative area of study. An advanced degree is preferred, but not required.

  • A minimum of 10 years of Recruiting, HR or applicable business experience and 5 years of management experience.

  • Proven and seasoned leadership skills with demonstrated ability to include and leverage diverse perspectives and ideas.

  • This position requires experience working with large, complex organizations, proven ability to effectively implement process improvement skills, strong organization skills and flexibility working in a dynamic, matrix based and performance driven environment.

  • Requires a broad business perspective and a thorough understanding of business goals, vision, culture and environment (position works across all organizations at PayPal).

  • Demonstrated the ability to interface with and influence senior executives, effectively lead a team of experienced professionals, coordinate with other cross-functional leaders internally and build relationships with external partners.

  • Proficient understanding of strategic staffing processes and initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, as well the ability to translate business requirements into effective college recruiting strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills required verbal, written and presentation.

  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (20%).
