Robert Half Customer Service Bank Representative in San Jose, California

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individuals looking to break into the banking industry. Our client is a local credit union with locations across the south bay and are looking for candidates with cash handling and customer service experience (don't need prior banking experience). They will be responsible for being first point of contact for their customers, responsible for providing exceptional customer service while performing a variety of banking functions. This is a position for an organized, diligent, and customer-centric professional. The responsibilities and duties are the following:

  • Assist customers with routine banking transactions such as cashing checks, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and balance inquiries.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, answering customer queries and resolving issues efficiently.

  • Manage cash drawer, ensuring all transactions are accurate and balance with the ledger at the end of each shift.

  • Generate and guide customers through new account & products opening.

  • Adhere strictly to all bank procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Recognize opportunities to suggest bank services and products to customers based on their needs.

  • Keep records of all transactions and prepare currency transaction reports.

  • Create and maintain a friendly and cordial atmosphere for customers.

    Requirements

Candidates that are considered for this role will need to go through a credit check prior to interviews to stay complaint with credit union employee policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or a related field can be an advantage.

  • Prior experience in a customer service role is preferred.

  • Strong math skills and competency with cash handling and transactions.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to be attentive to details and maintain confidentiality.

  • Solid understanding of banking regulations and procedures.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Proficiency with banking software and computer systems.
