  • Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions

  • Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for software enhancements and new products. Write original, high quality, stable software code and work with cross-functional application development team to create systems and applications

  • Develop software tools including operating systems and internet related tools. Work with product designers to develop solutions appropriate for technical and non-technical end users

  • Ensure new code conforms to established coding standards, meets the feature specification and can be seamlessly localized for other languages. Document new code and features developed, including changes to existing code

  • Write and present code design specifications. Validate and sufficiently explain features for QA to finalize test cases and Tech Pubs to create user documentation

  • Participate in peer code reviews to ensure interoperability within the entire system. Support customers during Alpha/Beta phases to identify and resolve product defects. Participate in new product Gunslinger events to identify usability issues prior to general release of the product

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and debug code, as required. Participate in developing test plans, including regression tests, for newly developed software or features

  • Write and maintain the code so that it can be tested using automatic methods. Ensure new code, feature or software product meets performance goals and does not adversely impact the performance of existing subsystems

  • Work with Product Management/Product Design/QA to understand and help refine functional requirements for new products or upgrades

  • Collaborate on Product Requirement and Feature Specification documents and estimate the programming difficulty

  • Contribute to cost-benefit analysis by providing cost input for the features and determine feasibility. Create low level software designs prior to coding

  • Develop industry specific documents and diagrams to outline architecture and relationships between subsystems

  • Write high level software designs and specifications for feature implementation and document implications for other areas of the product

  • Research and analyze existing legacy architecture and software code to understand the code at both the low-level and higher architectural level for making enhancements or resolving defects and performance issues

  • Participate in planning and design review meetings with technical leads and project managers to determine schedules, review technical problems, and assign tasks and resources

  • Track progress with respect to plan, inform Project Manager of delays and supply new estimates of completion as needed

  • Utilize software estimation process in order to estimate development time and resources necessary for specific functions. Resolve existing feature defects logged by customers or QA and document all changes made

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s**degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field (In lieu of Bachelor s degree, Autodesk will accept 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation)

  • You have 4 years of experience in the job offered, or in a software engineer-related field

  • You have 4 years experience in each of the following skills:

  • Software engineering in a cloud / distributed environment

  • Theoretical computer science, concurrency and complexity analysis

  • Python, Java, Scala and related technology frameworks (Play!, J2EE, Sprint, JMX)

  • You have 2 years experience in each of the following skills:

  • Build and deployment technologies (Maven, SBT, Jenkins, Nexus, Grunt, NPM)

  • API and cloud integration technologies (HTTP, SOAP, REST)

  • Software development at scale using AWS APIs and services

  • Administration, management and secure control of AWS services and resources

  • You have 1 year experience in each of the following skills:

  • Container technologies (Docker, Mesos, Marathon

  • Software integration components and middleware (Kafka, ActiveMQ, ServiceMix)
