Amazon Marketing Strategic Planning & Operations Leader, AWS Global Customer, Industry, and Partner Marketing (GCIPM), Global Customer, Industry and Partner Marketing Strategy & Operations in San Francisco, California

Description

The Global Customer, Industry and Partner Marketing organization is seeking an experienced and driven Strategic Planning & Operations Leader to own and drive the rhythm of the business and annual strategic planning activities for the global organization, including weekly business reviews, quarterly business reviews, annual operating plans, goal setting, and performance reporting.

In this role, you will partner with Finance, and Marketing Technology and Science teams to support financial management of team budgets, resource investments and management, and advancement of measurement capabilities, and other related special projects. You will also own the interlock with Sales Operations to drive strategic alignment in prioritization, and resource allocation and proactively identify pain points within the org, working to improve efficiency and productivity that enables optimization, and informs and influences future strategy.

You will think holistically and strategically about key operational rhythms, business processes, investment optimization and productivity, and work cross-functionally, engaging with Field Marketing Operations, GCIPM Leadership team, Sales Operations, HR, Tech and Finance Leaders on a regular basis. You will need to be a self-starter, be comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and be able to deliver results at both a strategic and tactical level. You will bring a unique balance of leadership, strategic thinking, cross-group collaboration, influence, and communication skills. Maturity, excellent judgment, and the ability to influence are all essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

A successful Strategic Planning and Operations leader will:

• Own operational deliverables, including driving the overall cadence and communication with internal teams to showcase results and provide clear and compelling reports (rhythm of the business)

• Provide thought leadership, structure and discipline enabling effective planning, decision making and execution and reporting (business process management)

• Work across a wide group of stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality and consistent completion of business operation activities across the org to achieve overall business priorities (business operations project management)

• Oversee the discretionary team budget and resource investment strategy and management, in collaboration with AWS Finance and budget stakeholders (Budget, Financial, Resource management)

• Design key metrics/KPIs in collaboration with business stakeholders, and lead associated measurement framework and goal setting process. (goal setting and performance reporting)

• Thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, and invent and simplify processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing

  • Experience delivering cross functional projects

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • 7+ years of managing teams experience

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
