Description and Requirements

The Infrastructure Solutions Group Channel Solution Architect is a Sales Engineer that helps drive field channel sales for Lenovo's ISG product line as part of the Lenovo channel field sales team. The candidate will create and nurture relationships at the business partner level. Candidates can be based within or near (100 miles) of any major NFL city in the Western U.S.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining trusted relationships within customer accounts across the spectrum of technical users and influencers to the C-suite.

  • Developing and delivering technical content across a broad customer audience.

  • Architecting solutions for the Data Center from the Lenovo portfolio of products and partnerships.

  • Driving and supporting sales objectives to meet or exceed bookings and revenue targets.

  • Acting as author for technical responses to proposal requests.

  • Driving configurations, demos, and interoperability issues to achieve client solution needs.

  • Managing success of customer proof of concept and proof of technology evaluations.

  • Representing Lenovo during trade shows, exhibitions and seminars.

  • Ensuring successful deployment of solutions once purchased and providing the highest level of customer experience in challenging post sales situations.

Further, we are looking for strong individuals who:

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts in a partner engagement.

  • Consistently deliver work product that meets or exceeds business partner and /or customer expectations.

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts in a partner sell-to and sell-through engagement.

  • Can adeptly translate customer’s Data Center needs and problems into technical solutions.

  • Can understand and articulate Lenovo’s vision, strategy and architectural approach to a wide variety of Data Center solution spaces: HyperConverged, Software Defined Infrastructure, Big Data and Analytics, IoT, Edge Computing, AI/ML, Virtualization, Storage, HPC, etc.

  • Work in partnership with regional sales teams and partners to drive solutions business.

  • Work with distribution partners, integrators and other go-to-market and meet-in-the-Channel vendors in territory to help plan and execute a Lenovo Data Center solutions sales plan.

  • Pursue new strategies and technologies, making sales efforts highly effective for business partners and their customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Sales Engineer role with a proven track record in leading and winning major server, networking, and/or storage business to Data Center clients.

  • Ability to travel within territory up to 60% of the time to reside within or near (100 miles) of major NFL city in Western U.S. region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent consultative selling skills: strong with written and verbal communications; strong with listening and adapting to client’s needs plus polished and adaptive presentation skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to drive technical collaboration across diverse customer and internal groups

  • Knowledge and experience with server and desktop virtualization, software defined solutions, cloud, storage, business continuity, systems management, and data center operations

  • Cursory and/or nominal hands on experience with VMWare, Linux, HyperV, Windows Server, Nutanix, Microsoft Azure, Systems management products, and x86 systems

  • Knowledge of OpenStack, SAP, HPC, SQL, Azure, NetApp storage

  • Knowledge and experience with x86 servers from legacy IBM & Lenovo a plus

  • Ability to present and differentiate Data Center technology products

  • Ability to drive technological conversations as well to validate opportunities for technical merit

  • Ability to work effectively within a sales team as shown via effective team communication and executing on assigned technical tasks

  • Ability to provide pre-sales / POC assistance in their efforts to implement products and solutions

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $165,000- $175,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
