AON Employee Rewards Consultant in San Francisco, California
Aon is looking for an Employee Rewards Consultant – San Francisco, Boston, open to Virtual
Rewards & Career Advisory, a unit of Aon’s Human Capital Solutions practice, is looking for Employee Rewards Consultant to join our employee rewards advisory practice.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone with prior employee compensation consulting experience with strong analytical, communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This candidate can sit in any US Aon office or be virtual based in the continental United States.

What a day will look like
Complete job evaluations, develop salary structures, and conduct cost modeling and impact analysis
Review and be accountable for all methodology / analysis / output on each staffed project
Provide regular guidance and developmental feedback to junior staff
Participate in or lead data gathering and fact finding at the client
Serve as intermediary between the engagement leader, staff resources, and the client
Develop summary reports including findings and recommendations
Interface and co-deliver presentations to client
Participate in or lead development of implementation strategies
Assist in new business/firm development activities
Skills and experience that will lead to success
5+ years of compensation or related experience with external consulting experience required
Employee pay compensation experience required
Quantitative background and skill set
Highly proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to synthesize and communicate large amounts of data into key findings and identify related business issues
Strong consultative skills, including relationship building, process skills, and facilitation skills
Knowledge of compensation strategy, design, and implementation, including base pay, annual incentives, and recognition
Familiarity with global reward principles and practices
Familiarity with talent principles and practices, related to performance management
Leadership experience in terms of mentoring or developing peers and/or junior team members
Experience of working effectively within teams (professionally or otherwise)
Organizational and project management skills
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex projects in fast-pace, loosely-structured and deadline-oriented environment
Maturity to operate independently, yet maintain open communication with team members on changing landscape/priorities
Track record of success in terms of historical performance rating and/or utilization (billable hours / total hours)
Preferred Experience:
- Previous consulting experience preferred
Education: Bachelor’s degree

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,000 - $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
