Our West Geography is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in our San Francisco office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who is looking to provide designs for a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of a variety of medium to large-scale complex projects

  • Gain experience working on diverse projects across all of our major business sectors including science and technology, higher-education, laboratories, energy, and infrastructure

  • Collaborate with exceptional multi-disciplinary teams using our experience at the local, regional, and global levels

  • Have opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing office

  • Undertake electrical systems design, predominantly for building projects, including power systems, lighting, fire alarm and other signal systems

  • Design and perform calculations for power system study, lighting systems and associated controls

  • Prepare and review drawings and specifications detailing the design

  • Coordinating with multiple teams and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete work you're doing

  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings

  • Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences

  • Understanding trends and standard methodologies

  • Participating in local Professional Associations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering

  • 4 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings

  • Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working

  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels

  • Experience with Revit MEP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems

  • LEED accreditation

  • Experience with power system modeling using SKM

Hiring Range:  The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in San Francisco is $90,000 and $111,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
