Robert Half is in search for a Director of Finance & Accounting.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Job duties are included but not limited to:

Accounting and Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements.

• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and tax advisors.

Accounting Systems:

• Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.

• Proficiency in financial software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is essential. Experience with systems implementation, data analysis tools, and advanced Excel skills are critical for the position.

• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of financial systems to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

• Significant experience in accounting with a focus on financial systems management and process improvement. Prior leadership experience is often necessary, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.

• Perform accounting systems conversions and systems related problem solving.

• Protect information security of accounting documents and related communications.

Risk Management:

• Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard the club's assets.

• Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing strategies to manage financial risks effectively.

• Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to financial reporting.

Financial Management:

• Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for company's management.

• Monitor and report financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances.

• Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking transactions and other financial transactions.

• Conduct regular financial analysis to assess profitability, liquidity, and solvency.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.

• Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and achievement of departmental objectives

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

• Proven experience (5-10 years) in accounting and financial management, preferably in the hospitality or private club industry.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office suite; ADP (Payroll and HR Software); experience with club management software is a plus.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results out
