Lyft Associate Counsel, Regulatory Compliance in San Francisco, California

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work externally and across all areas of the company to advise on and implement our compliance objectives. This role reports to the Senior Director of Regulatory Compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with regulators to determine relevant requirements, and negotiate and advocate for favorable interpretations and adoption of rules

  • Research and advise on regulatory compliance issues that impact Lyft’s Operations, Marketing, Finance and Product teams

  • Communicate regulatory compliance requirements and offer guidance to other teams including Communications, Product, Government Relations, Customer Support, and other teams within the Legal Department

  • Gather and synthesize data relating to Lyft’s compliance requirements.

Experience:

  • JD Degree

  • Admitted to the New York or California Bar in good standing or eligible to register as In-House Counsel

  • 3+ years of experience working as an attorney

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to think both tactically and strategically

  • Ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple internal and external sources under demanding deadlines

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $144,000-$180,000 . Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
