Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$38.275 - $49.387 - $60.499

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Provide ongoing support for vaccination program(s).

Required Qualifications

  • Less Than 1 Year previous nursing support roles (e.g. Surge Tech, Extender, Vaccination Technician, Nursing Assistant).

  • 1 Year Healthcare experience in a hospital system.

  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing

  • Emergency and/or disaster response and preparedness experience.

  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -PREFERRED

  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -PREFERRED

Essential Functions

  • DocumentationDocuments patient care by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.Performs assessments and documents accurate, complete and concise patient information on appropriate forms, including flow sheets, activity records, etc.Documenting patient assessment in the electronic patient record, and nursing care plan.Documents needs, education provided, and outcome of education.

  • Vaccine CoordinationCoordinate vaccination efforts during emergency disaster periods.Support the efforts of nursing and management.Document, communicate, and disseminate policies and procedures timely.Assist with coordination and logistics of obtaining and disseminating supplies.

  • Patient CareImplements and coordinates the identified plan/care delivering.Keeps professional nursing staff advised of current patient status as well as changes in patient condition as they occur.Maintains a good rapport with families and/or patient representative. Collaborates with patient, family and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.Evaluates patient care by adhering to standards; measures health outcomes against patient care standards; reviews patient records; noting changing conditions and needs.Maintain standards of professional care.Takes vital signs and records intake and output.Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react.

  • ConfidentialityProtects healthcare organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.

  • SafetyMaintains knowledge of emergency response plans.Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, adheres to organization’s standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.

  • Quality and DataCollects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or issues. Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Participates in quality improvement activities.

  • TeamworkContributes to nursing and healthcare organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills required. Effective communication, organizational and critical thinking skills. Basic math and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA.

  • Ability to perform assessments and basic nursing functions acquired in the basic nursing preparation program.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to build comprehensive reports and effectively convey information to others.

  • Knowledge of nursing process and patient triage

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong conflict resolution, multi-tasking skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills are critical to success in this role.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper documentation and charting procedures and completes in a timely manner.

  • Proficiency in equipment used in the clinic setting.
